East Coast Metal Systems fabricated 16 custom purple EC-100 Wet Joint MCM System™ panels, totaling 291 square feet, for East Carolina University's new Indoor Practice Facility in Greenville, North Carolina. Architect CRA Associates, Inc. specified the accents in ECU purple, giving the year-round training facility a bold, unmistakable Pirate identity on campus. The color had to read as true ECU purple and hold up to years of sun, humidity, and coastal storms. The EC 100 Wet Joint System met that need, with sealed joints between panels that keep water out and give the facade a clean, continuous look.
The finished facade puts ECU purple front and center, giving the Indoor Practice Facility a bold, unmistakable campus identity, while the EC 100 system's sealed joints deliver the weather protection and durability a high-use athletic building demands. The project shows what ECMS does best: custom-fabricated metal wall panels, in virtually any color, built to fit and ready to perform.
